It is important for employees to feel safe in the workplace. Individuals assimilate into an established sense of community when they are a part of a workplace.. The introduction of civility training for employees shows that employers are being thoughtful and intentional about the overall well-being of their employees. Today’s workforce is more diverse, more activist, and is aware of the value that they bring to the workplace. All of these factors lead to employees having a very low tolerance for management not properly responding to misconduct within the workplace. Any act that can be perceived by employees as being rude, dismissive, and unprofessional can eventually lead to allegations of a toxic workplace.
